Redirect Checker — frequently asked questions

Is the Redirect Checker really free?

Yes. The Redirect Checker is free forever on Sada Files — no ads, no premium tier and no account. Server-side fetches have a fair-use rate limit per visitor so the service stays fast for everyone.

Do I need to sign up?

No. There is no account system at Sada Files. Open the page, enter a URL or paste your code, and read the report.

How does it follow redirects?

One hop at a time: each request is made without following redirects, the Location header is read, and the next URL is validated again by our SSRF-safe fetcher (public addresses only, 10 s per request). It stops after 10 hops. Nothing is stored.

What does it flag?

Redirect loops, chains of more than one redirect, temporary redirects (302/307) where a permanent one (301/308) is usually better, https-to-http downgrades and chains that end in an error page.

Why are redirect chains bad?

Each hop adds latency and crawlers may stop following long chains. Point old URLs straight at the final destination with a single 301.

Does it show timings?

Yes. Every hop shows its status code, target and response time, plus the total time of the chain.
