CSR Generator & Decoder — frequently asked questions
What is a Certificate Signing Request (CSR)?
A CSR is an encoded block of text containing domain details, organization metadata, and a public key submitted to a Certificate Authority (CA) to obtain an SSL/TLS certificate.
Is it safe to generate private keys in this browser tool?
Yes. Private keys are generated locally via the browser's native Web Crypto API. Private keys are never uploaded or transmitted to any server.
Which key algorithms are supported?
The tool supports standard RSA (2048-bit and 4096-bit) and modern elliptic curve cryptography (ECDSA P-256 and P-384).
Can this tool decode an existing PEM CSR?
Yes. Paste any standard `-----BEGIN CERTIFICATE REQUEST-----` block to inspect the Common Name, Organization, Subject Alternative Names (SANs), and public key algorithm.
Are generated certificates and keys stored by Sada Files?
No. Once you close your browser tab or clear the screen, your keys and generated CSRs are destroyed. Sada Files retains zero keys or logs.
