AI Edit Image (Inpaint & Outpaint) — frequently asked questions

Is AI Edit Image really free?

Yes. There is no premium tier and no watermark. Prompt-guided inpainting and outpainting run on a GPU, so they share a daily allowance per visitor (currently 20 images a day, counted per variation). Erase Object and Expand Image remain available on your device without any allowance when you only need to remove something or extend plain backgrounds.

How do the three modes differ?

Inpaint repaints only the area you brush over, following your prompt. Outpaint extends the canvas by the percentage and direction you choose and fills the new area to match the scene. Replace background keeps the main subject and generates a new background from your prompt. In every mode the untouched pixels of your photo are copied through unchanged.

Is the AI opt-in, and what happens to my photo?

Cloud AI is opt-in: a consent sheet appears once per session before the photo and mask leave your device. The job is encrypted with a key unique to it, processed on our own GPU worker, kept at most 24 hours so you can re-download or Continue with… another tool, then deleted automatically. Delete now removes it immediately.

Is anything used for training?

No. The model is open-weight (FLUX.1-schnell, Apache-2.0) and runs on our hardware; no third party sees your photo. Prompts are kept only as a salted hash for quota counting. Prompts are moderated before generation and outputs pass a safety classifier; blocked requests return a plain error, and only counts are recorded.

How is the edited image labelled?

Every result carries a C2PA manifest and EXIF/XMP metadata stating it was AI edited with Sada Files. There is no visible watermark.

Can I chain it with other tools?

Yes. Continue with… hands the edited image in memory to Crop, Compress, Upscale, Remove Background or any image tool, and the whole chain can be saved as a workflow.
