Is Images to Video really free?

Yes. The slideshow is rendered in your browser with FFmpeg.wasm, so there is no premium tier, no watermark and no cap on how many videos you make on your own device. Only the optional server path — offered for very large photo sets or phones with little memory — counts against the daily video allowance, and it never turns into a paywall.

Is this AI? Are my photos uploaded?

No generative model is involved: transitions, Ken Burns motion and captions are deterministic FFmpeg filters. The tool sits in the AI Studio next to the generation tools and shares their consent sheet only when you choose the server path. By default your photos, captions and music never leave your device.

What if I choose the server path?

Your files are encrypted with a key unique to the job, rendered by FFmpeg on our worker, kept in an ephemeral store for at most 24 hours so you can re-download or Continue with… another tool, and deleted automatically. Delete now removes them immediately. Nothing is trained on your files and no filename or content is logged.

Which formats, sizes and lengths are supported?

JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP, TIFF and HEIC / HEIF photos, 2 to 200 per video; MP3, WAV or M4A music; output MP4 (H.264) or WebM at 720p or 1080p in 16:9, 9:16, 1:1 or 4:5. At 3 seconds a slide, 100 photos make a five-minute video; the browser needs a few hundred megabytes of free memory for that.

How do captions work?

Type one line per photo in the Captions box, in the same order as your photos; leave a line empty for no caption. Captions are drawn in the Sada Files font set, including Devanagari, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. For spoken-word subtitles use Add Subtitles afterwards.

Can I chain it with other tools?

Yes. Continue with… passes the video in memory to Compress Video, Add Subtitles, Video to GIF or Trim Video, and the whole chain can be saved as a workflow.
