Keccak-256 ஹாஷ் ஜெனரேட்டர் — அடிக்கடி கேட்கப்படும் கேள்விகள்

What is Keccak-256 and how does it differ from standard SHA-3?

Keccak-256 was the original cryptographic submission that won the NIST SHA-3 competition. While NIST standardized SHA3-256 with slightly altered padding parameters, Ethereum and the EVM adopted the original Keccak-256 specification.

Where is Keccak-256 used in Ethereum and Web3?

Keccak-256 is used throughout the EVM for Ethereum wallet address derivation, Solidity function selectors (the first 4 bytes of `keccak256("function(types)")`), Merkle tree validation, and ERC-20 token signatures.

Can I generate 4-byte Solidity function selectors?

Yes. Entering standard Solidity function signatures (like `transfer(address,uint256)`) computes the full 32-byte (64 hex character) hash, whose first 4 bytes (8 hex characters) form the function selector.

Does it support the standard 0x prefix?

Yes. You can toggle the `0x` prefix on or off depending on whether you are copying into Solidity smart contracts or raw binary buffers.

Is my code or input text private?

Yes. Keccak-256 calculation executes completely in your local browser with zero telemetry or network calls.
